HousingAs inhabitant of EnglishTown you are free to move into one of the houses present in the Town.Citizens ranking from Patrizier to Burggraf take Residence in a town house, which gives room for 4 people. When you become Landgraf you get your own house. All other citizens live on the sourrounding farms, which can accomodate up to 8 people. How to move in? You are free to move in the house you want (as long as your rank is permits it and the house is not full). In ET we have several town houses and a countryside area with a bunch of farms. To move into on of the farm houses you give the comand: /movein <house number> The available farm houses are: C10-4, C10-11, C10-21, C10-26, C10-44, C10-45, C10-46 The available town houses are: C10-3, C10-2, C10-17, C10-30, C10-31, C10-32, C10-39, C10-40 In other words, to move in to e.g. house C10-11 you give the command: /movein C10-11 Have a look at the cityplan to see where the houses are situated. Getting your own house When you reach the rank of Landgraf (rank 12), you can get your own house. You then get your own 5 x 6 square property where you place your house. The house you get for free, but the other stuff you place in your garden, like grass, trees, fountains (very expensive), water and flowers, you have to pay for with your hard earned points (if you are e.g. only 100 points above the point requirement for Landgraf, you will not be able to build anything costing more than 100 talers). All the available Landgraf slots are marked out on the cityplan. Pick yourself a slot number and tell the mayor on what slot you want your property. But before you do this make sure to move out from your previous housing - to do this use the /moveout command. When the mayor has dug out your property you can start building. You can also decide a name for your property by using the /estate (name) command. How to build When your slot is up you will
see a yellow button beside the blue navigation arrows (you might need to
re-enter the town room to see it if you enter ET directly when you log
in). To get into building mode click the yellow button (it will then turn
pink, showing that you are in build mode). When you enter build mode a
little window showing the current build item will open in the upper left
corner. Using the arrow keys (left, right) on your keyboard
you will be able to choose between the different types of
build items.Just click the desired location (yellow frame) to place the item on your slot. As you build the cost is accumulated and showed in the upper left window, under the build item. When you hit the save button this amount will be deducted from your hard earned experience points. The save button, "S", is the
green button beside the navigation arrows. The undo button, "U", is the
purple one underneath it. Using the undo button will empty your bill and
you can start again from scratch. Once you have saved you have to pay (and
there is no cancel button). When you have saved the location of your
house you have placed it forever and always, and you will never be
able to move it. All other items you can build over later on even if you
have saved them, but then you have to pay again. If you place a build item
on top of another one, overriding the old one, you will need to pay for
both items if you choose to save, so be careful!!! Play around with the build tool, figure out how you want your slot - but then Undo before you do a clean re-build so you are sure you will not pay for items you have built on top of. A lot of players want to reach Fürst as fast as possible to get their own game room. Because of this, it can be a good idea to make a step-by-step building plan so you don't use too many talers on your property before you reach Fürst. But since it does take a long time to reach Fürst, even if you are careful and don't spend too much on your slot at first, it doesn't hurt to make it look nice while waiting. Grass for example only cost 2 talers and looks a lot better than the empty slot tiles. A few trees and bushes should also be affordable. This picture shows the two types of landgraf houses
available. There is also a cave and tipis available, but we won't alow
such buildings in a villa area. If you want to live in a cave our go back
to nature and sleep in a tipi you must make us aware of this before you
get your slot so that we can invent a fitting location for it.
Maybe on an island with no road access? :-) Happy building! :-) |
