Want to join EnglishTown?

In Brettspielwelt game rooms are placed in buildings that cost resources (wood, stone, ore, wool, food, cloth or tools). In addition, towns must provide food (50) and clothing (5-20 depending on level) for each resident.  If a town cannot meet these demands they are subject to penalties. A food shortage causes starvation, and the residents lose 5% of their Talers/experience. A clothing shortage causes freezing, and the town is not allowed to build buildings for a month. In addition, both of these cause the town to sell all resources they may have saved. The resources are gained from game play in the town gaming rooms and from play by the town members.

Our goal in EnglishTown is to make BSW more accessible for the English speaking crowd. Because of the resourse requrements we can't aford to cary to many infrequent players though. But if you spend 2-3 hours a week or more playing at BSW and are looking for an English speaking comunity at BSW you should really consider joining EnglishTown. ( Need more good reasons why to join? ).

Even if you aren’t a member of EnglishTown you are welcome to hang out in our town room ( /room C10 ) and to support EnglishTown by playing in our game rooms. The more play we have in EnglishTown the more game rooms will we be able to build, and the more game rooms we have in our game manager (/manager eng ) the easier it might be to find English speaking players to play with.

Practical notes:

When you decide you want to join EnglishTown contact the mayor (Nikita) or the deputy mayor. You and the mayor/deputy have to be in the town room at the same time for you to join.

Inactivity / removal policy:

Because of the resources we are not interested in keeping members that have stoped or almost stoped playing. Because of this we run statistics that make us see how much our members play. Based on this we use the following removal "rules":

- New members (member for less than 3 months): remove if 0 multi user games last month and at the same time less than 150 multi user game points last 2 months.

- Medium new members (members for less than 5 months): remove if 0 mulit user games last 2 months.

- Other members - except Landgrafs or higher: If 0 play last 2 months and low play in general the member is removed. Mail is sent if play is lower than 150 multi user points last 2 months and less than 500 last 4 months (with a 8 month average of less than 200 multi user points). If we get no response on the e-mail the member is removed. We use the e-mail registered in BSW. Make sure this e-mail is working...

- Landgrafs: We are very carefull in regard to removing players that have a house in town. At the same time, it happens from time to time that these players stop playing too. If there are no e-mail registered, or we get no response to mail sent, we will remove Landgrafs after 4 months of 0 play.

If you stop playing for a while and we remove you, you don't loose any points. But when you are sent back to ARMfeld you start paying the ARMfeld tax again.

Removed players will always be able to re-join the town one month later.
